The DEIF iE Convert 500 and 900 power converters delivers highly efficient conversion. With multiple configurations and bi-directional capability, you can specify the unit to do what you need. The iE Convert 500/900 delivers 900 kVA (1500 VDC). You can parallel several units to build multi-megawatt solutions. The converter is ideal for a wide range of land and marine applications.
Low energy loss
The groundbreaking silicon carbide technology of the iE Convert 900 means that only 3-4% of the electrical energy is lost as heat at system level, compared to 6-7% with IGBT designs. This increases the efficiency of transfer, storage, use, and sales of energy in your solutions.
Grid-ready power
The iE Convert 500/900 can achieve switching frequencies of 50 to 100 kHz – significantly higher than IGBT designs. This gives you pure, noise-free output energy that you can feed directly to your load or the grid.
Built-in filters
The high-quality output energy means that additional filters and condensers will rarely be needed. The iE Convert 500/900 comes with built-in filters that will be adequate for most applications.
Smaller and lighter than IGBT designs
The highly efficient design with built-in filters, and the reduced heat loss, mean that you can reduce system footprint by up to 60% and weight by 4 to 8 times compared to IGBT designs. This is great news when you work with crowded engine rooms and tight BESS designs.
Highly configurable and service-friendly
You can specify your iE Convert 500/900 to match your requirements. The complete converter assembly comes mounted in an IP22 frame, ready for use. You can achieve higher IP ratings by integrating the converter into a cabinet or rack system. The cooling plugs are mounted on the side to facilitate service work, and you can easily replace filters if needed.
Several control options
You can connect to the controller of the iE Convert 500/900 via EtherCat to a DEIF controller, power or energy management system or a PLC. You can achieve seamless PLC integration using our CODESYS platform, and you can use the MATLAB platform for simulation and verification.
